I don't disagree. However, it will still take an organization


like the CFP Administration, LLC, who administers the College Football Playoff, to pony up the money and organize it. The other option is for the G5s to form their own division level so the NCAA can administer it. It is a moot point any ways since "the highest-ranked Group of Five champion is under contract to play in the Cotton, Fiesta or Peach Bowl through the 2025 regular season."

Even though I am not a huge fan of the articles on CBSSports.com, Jon Solomon does raise some interesting points. If the G5 decide to have their own playoffs, then are they prepared to have the P5s not schedule OOC games against them? What financial impact would that decision have on the G5s? If there are no G5 vs. P5 games, then what impact would that have on the G5's TV contracts? As the article suggest maybe the split is inevitable. If it does occur, then it could be interesting to see if it has any impact on the other sports.
